What is the official name of the trust company?
Our official name is Plumb Trust Company .

How is your trust company regulated?
Plumb Trust Company is a state-chartered trust company regulated by the State of Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. We are subject to the same rules and regulations as any other trust company, including bank trust companies. We are examined by the State of Wisconsin to ensure that we are following the rules and regulations which apply to trust companies and which help keep your assets safe.

Are my trust accounts safe?
In a trust company, all investments (whether in trust or agency accounts) are legally considered assets of the individual trust company clients, and not of the trustee. You always retain title to your assets so your assets would be unaffected by a bank or trust company failurel.  Because the trust company never takes title to your assets, your assets can never be subject to the claims of our creditors.

What kind of estate planning do you do at Plumb Trust Company ?
We are happy to review existing estate plans with our clients, to discuss various estate planning options, and to make suggestions of possible estate planning solutions. If you do not presently have an attorney, we can also refer you to an attorney who can assist you in implementing the plan.

Can you write my will or trust?
We have a standard Trust document for clients who do not wish to use the trust as their estate planning vehicle. You need to have your attorney draft your Will or Trust to create your estate plan.

Who handles the investment management in my trust account?
Plumb Trust Company has contracted with Wisconsin Capital Management, LLC , and Thompson Investment Management, LLC , to provide investment management. You will have an experienced investment team handling the investments of your account working along with your Trust Officer.

How do you determine which investment manager will manage my account?
Your investment manager will be determined by your preference and by your history with the manager.

How much money do I need to open an account with Plumb Trust Company ?
We are able to work with accounts of various sizes. If you are willing to invest solely in the mutual funds, the smallest economical account size is approximately $500,000. If you want to utilize individual asset management, the smallest economical account size is approximately $1,000,000. Because we have certain fixed costs with both types of accounts, we have to enforce a minimum fee.
