President

Kathryn Norton serves as Plumb Trust Company President and Senior Trust Officer and has been with the Trust Company since she helped establish it in 2001. Prior to joining Thompson Plumb Trust Company , Ms. Norton was a Vice President with Marshall & Ilsley Trust Company , handling the administration of trusts for high net worth clients and specializing in the settlement of complex estates. Prior to the merger of M&I with Valley Trust Company , she managed the Estate Settlement and Legal Services Department for Valley Trust Company . Before beginning her trust career in 1989 with Valley Trust Company, Ms. Norton was engaged in the private practice of law with Gaylord, Schuett & Norton and Ross & Stevens, SC. She received her JD from the University of Wisconsin and her BS in Business from Indiana University. She is a member of the Dane County Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin and is a past Chair of the State Bar of Wisconsin Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section. Ms. Norton currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Wisconsin Bankers Association Trust Banking Section Board of Directors. Ms. Norton is also past President of both the Madison Estate Council and the Wisconsin Trustees Association. She has published articles in Wisconsin Lawyer and has been a frequent speaker throughout south central Wisconsin on estate planning topics.
